last of an era

Yesterday was the big day! We officially own two homes! Crazy!
After purchasing our new home we took our girls to the house. Oldest was so excited! She ran around the house and looked through all the rooms. She then saw the stairs to the upstairs and called out "my room is up there!". She ran up the stairs and we let her pick out her room. She also picked out her younger sisters room. They had a blast running back and forth between their rooms. I had packed the back of the van with their train table, kitchen and several toys. They had a lot of fun playing with their toys in their rooms! It was great to see their huge smiles on their faces.
I am excited to grab some paint and making the home feel like home. It will also be nice to see how all of our furniture fits into the house.
**I know that I had promised pictures but my camera was dead. I did buy some new batteries last night so I should be ready to go for today.

goodbye everything I know

Tonight will be the last time my girls (and possibly myself) will sleep in our WC house. It is kind of sad but exciting at the same time. If you are reading this and you live here please don't think I am bouncing off the walls happy and please don't be upset that I haven't said bye. Truth is, I am excited to live in a much better house and I don't feel like I need to say goodbye. We will live only 2.5 hours away and we will be visiting often. I do mean this too, I have to visit, my family lives here and I am pretty sure I would be killed if we didn't come down at least once a month or more. :)

My little ladies and I will be getting up bright and early tomorrow morning and head to KC in order for us to be at the closing at 10am. A little earlier than I was planning but it will be worth it. Oldest has been looking forward to this for a month now ever since she heard that we will be moving and she found out she will get her own room. Oldest is excited to have her train table set up in her room knowing that Youngest can't tear it up.

brand new chapter

We are about to embark on a brand new adventure this week. On Wednesday we will move completely out of our home here in Missouri and move into our new home in Kansas. It has been amazing to see what God has done with and to us throughout our lives so far and I am anxious to see what he has planned in this new chapter.

We attended our last Sunday service as members of Mystery today. The oldest was crying as we were leaving the church talking about how she wanted to see her friends. As we were pulling out of the church oldest stated that it is really hard to make new friends. A very true statement coming from a three year old. We love our church family and am excited to become a member of a new church family in KC.

Saturday we said goodbye to my family including my aunt and uncle who were up from Arkansas. Thankfully my mom chose to hold back her tears until we reached the end of her driveway.

This move does not seem to be as sad or as traumatic as our move to Idaho was. I had a very hard time emotionally when we moved 23 hours away but moving only 2.5 hours away just doesn't seem to hurt as much. The little ladies and I are planning on coming down around twice a month, at least in the beginning. I have a feeling we won't be too busy in the beginning considering we don't really know too many people.

I am hoping to take some pictures of the new place on Tuesday and when I do I will upload them.
Until then...click here for the realtor pictures.

still learning

I braved the chilly weather and took both girls out today. We first started at a friends house to order birthday cupcakes for Alice. While there Alice banged her mouth on a dining room chair. She was bleeding like crazy!! Poor little girl. She was in so much pain.

Next we went to Home Depot and Chick-fil-A, no incidents here.

Then we went to Toys-R-Us to look at car seats and possibly a present for Alice. While there I could tell that Alice was in need of a diaper change. I took her back to the bathroom to find out that she not only needed her diaper changed but her shirt and pants! Of course this is the day that I choose to not bring an extra set of clothes, thankfully though she did have two shirts on the the outer layer was clean. I cleaned her up and ran around babies-r-us with a half naked baby looking for some cheap pants. I found some jeans that were on clearance, ran to the check out counter and hurriedly threw them on her.

The rest of the day was, thankfully, without incident.

Now both girls have had baths and are finishing up dinner. Whew, what a day!

John comes home tonight and I can tell that both little ladies are pretty happy about that. I am thinking a day at Bass Pro is needed and maybe some Cold Stone, for Alice's birthday of course ;)

Here are my little ladies eating their eggs and bacon on Saturday. (pics taken with Photo Booth so sorry for the quality, my camera is still broken)

rain rain go away!

Three weeks ago I started a tradition of packing up the girls and driving to the other end of Joplin and getting some doughnuts and chocolate milk.

Sadly it started to storm pretty badly and I don't want to get the girls out in this and possibly have then get sick.

I should probably get off the couch now and fix the girls some eggs and bacon, which I know are much healthier than doughnuts but it is our little splurge.

I am going to try to stay on top of this thing. I am hoping to be able to post every other day...fingers crossed.

Here is what has been happening:
September 2010: moved from Idaho back to our home in WC. This was what was needed for our little family.
January 2011: John started work at JDC of Wyandotte Co in KC. Virginia turned 3!
Feburay 2011: I noticed Virginia's breathing was becoming labored. It was getting worst daily. Made an appt for an ENT for May 20 something.
March 2011 ENT has a cancellation and is able to get V in on April 5th!!

My little baby is about to turn one on the 31st!!!

I started a local etsy team that has really grown. It is great to get to know all the local etsians out there.

My girls absolutely love each other. I love to see them running around and holding hands. Too cute!
